Insurance Claim Process Carriage of Goods (Marine Cargo Insurance)

A. Liability Insured / Recipient Goods / agent or the representative parties.

In the case of claims of damage and or loss of goods, the obligations insured / Recipient Goods / agent or the representative parties to do the following things:
1. Do not sign a "Receipt of Goods / Letters Street / Delivery Order" except by providing a record of damage and or loss of goods.
2. For goods in the container:
- Check the conditions carefully and container number if there is damage, holes, etc..
- Check the conditions carefully and Number SEAL whether there is damage, loss, and whether the seal numbers in accordance with the transport documents.
- Put a note on the "Receipt of Goods / Letters Street / Delivery Order" if there is damage and or loss of goods.
3. Immediately contact the shipper / Carrier to take the survey.
4. INSURANCE COMPANY contacted immediately to conduct joint surveys.
5. Immediately reported to the police in case of traffic accident, robbery, squirrels jumping and other crimes.
6. Take Photo containers including container number, seal, wall, floor or roof where there is damage, and condition of goods for documentation.
7. Immediately filed compensation claims to the shipper / carrier.

B. Survey & Reporting To Claim INSURANCE COMPANY 


Report marine cargo claims must be submitted to or Survey INSURANCE COMPANY appointed agent as soon as possible, so INSURANCE COMPANY or Survey Agents can immediately make a survey to determine the cause of damage, claims reporting maximum 7 days after the unknown damage and or loss of goods.
The insured is obligated to give an opportunity to INSURANCE COMPANY or Loss Adjusters are appointed to inspect the damage of goods, damage to the ship, and interviews with the master or crew or other parties concerned.

C. Claims Documents

1. Claim Form fully completed along with details of the amount of damages.
2. Polis / Original Insurance Certificate
3. Bill of Lading or manifest Original
4. Invoice
5. Packing List
6. Letter Street / DO
7. Serah Terima News Events Products / Survey Report
8. The demand letter to the shipper / carrier and return.
9. Bid Cost Recovery.
10. Letter Delivery Petikemas (SP2)
11. Ship Accident Reports & Letters of completeness ship.
12. Police report (for the theft and traffic accidents).
13. Photo

D. Salvage
1. Insured / Recipient Goods / agent or the representative parties must keep damaged goods and should not discard or sell them without the prior written permission of INSURANCE COMPANY.
2. INSURANCE COMPANY marine cargo to and on behalf of the insured is entitled to carry out the tender / auction for salvage it by inviting some salvage buyers to participate.
3. Insured / Recipient Goods can participate in the tender / auction for salvage it.
4. Regulations implementing the tender / auction and the determination of the winner determined by INSURANCE COMPANY.
5. Salvage sales value will be paid to the insured and will be deducted from the value of approved claims.

E. General Average

To claim the Insured GA / Recipient Goods / agent or the representative parties are prohibited from signing Average Pay Deposit Guarantee or without the prior written permission of INSURANCE COMPANY.
